Hands Picture

Another update - Here is one with a cheesy heart I made in Photoshop.

And then we tried one high key (white background)

You just know about 6 months from now we're going to find the perfect heart for this picture. :-)

Update - Dell thought our hands looked a little too waxy, and I think she's right.  So here's another version:

This is what Alli and I came up with.  Are we getting close? I oversaturated the heart and undersaturated everything else. But it's easy to change.  Any comments/tips, just let us know.

  Hands and Heart

Lisa - Could you please take a look at this?

I wanna hold your hand

http://www.flickr.com/photos/batega/1865482908/  Is that kind of what you were thinking?

I found this one on Flickr.  Just want to make sure what's in my head matches with what's in yours. :-)

hands picture
Yes. I was thinking the child's hand would be coming up from the bottom of the photo, thumb down. What's your email? The one I have is wrong. We wanted to start talking dates for Grandpa's birthday. Are there any weekends in July that you have plans already?

July and Email
The best email for me is Stacy(at)stacyanddell(dot)com Dell's is Rhondelle(at)Charter(dot)net I know Sean is going to be around over the 4th of July and Zach has hockey school one week in July. That's the only things we have that are solid. :-) Ps - Alli and I will get to work on the picture.

You couldn't put on a suit?
Or maybe you think the sweat shirt sleeves give the picture a little charm.

My Hickey Freeman was at the cleaners
Hey it was Sunday morning. I was lucky to have anything on. :-) After Lisa comes back with her change list, we may need to reshoot this next Sunday with you and Elizabeth. And a lighter background.

I think you are right on with what I was thinking
I like the sweatshirt. No need for a stiff suit. These are foster parents I want to recruit. Sorry Scott. I think I'd crop off a good portion of the left so the cuff wouldn't be what the eyes are drawn to. The the hands would be more on the left leaving more room for text. I think the heart needs to be bigger. I will look for something when I go to Bismarck on Wed. But hey I like it how it is and don't want to be too fussy so what you have is fine. When are you starting your senior portrait business. And you'll have to take baby photos too. They have such cute ideas out there.

I think your thumb looks too stiff!
I think your thumb looks a little stiff, need to relax it or point it up more. As you read this take your hand and reach out like you wre going to give something to someone. Think of like a piece of candy! I don't know how much bigger you want that heart lisa. it would be over powering wouldn't it?

thumbs
I think you're right about the thumb. Either it should be pointing up or forward like the last picture. I looked around the house and we don't have any other hearts. I guess I could cut one out of paper? Lisa - When do you need this by? We can try again this weekend, or if you need it sooner, I can give you what we have now. Also, is the black background OK, or would white work better? This is the first time I've taken a picture like this. It's tougher than I thought! :-)

timeframe and heart
I don't need the picture right away. We are just now putting together a proposal for grant money. I don't have a better heart. Guess it isn't a good time of the year for hearts. The heart is important and what the eye should draw to. It's symbolic. Oversaturating it was a good idea. Didn't think about a white background. Guess that's for the photographer to decide!!!! This is a good challenge for you. Something besides faces and scenery! It'll make a good picture for your portfolio. I can use what you have or you can keep trying. Up to you. Thanks.

hands
Hey I could come up with another challenge. I thought of it the other night and then strangely saw something similiar on a tv commercial. Two hands form a heart by the finger tips touching making the top rounded parts and the thumbs touching making a point. How about that one? But i still think taking pictures of baby toes, fingers, ears, eyes is something you should focus on for your new business! Tired of me yet?

Hands
I'll have to put Alli my hand model to work tonight. I saw a picture like the one you're talking about. (Where the hands make a heart) But instead of hands it was 2 swans. Their necks kinda crossed to make the heart. That was pretty cool too.

Heart is on the way
Stace I gave the heart I had to your mom to give to you this weekend. Take some pics with it and see what it looks like. I don't want it back!! Throw it away when your done or keep it for your professional hand portrait business! LOL

Sorry I dropped out of computer land for a while. My computer locked up on me and I had to take it to the doctor. I really like the contrast of the black photo and the tilt of the heart. Good job. Since you are becoming a pro at this... Wouldn't it be cook to photograph grandma Mathilda's hand doing her crocheting? Think about it. That's a memory to capture.

Oops. I meant cool not cook. I am serious about grandma's hands though, I mean now that you are a professional and all. And that set is great. Either will work. You captured exactly what I was looking for. I like the bigger heart. Thanks,
